Mr. Barbour has been qualified for almost 3 decades in various entrepreneurial & psychological endeavours including the field of self-directional, relational and counseling psychology in the USA. He has dealt with a wide assortment of psychological & relationship issues affecting marital, self-worth, depression & most issues affectinng adults, children & extended families today. 

Our theory of helping visitors involves a 'client-centered' approach that expands beyond traditional psychotherapy into such areas as marriage, leadership, parent-child relationships, education, grief counseling, depression and the development of professional standards.  Jim relies predominantly on Carl Roger's 8-step 'non-directional' therapy program that begins with the client first recognizing that they know and understand why there is a reason they have come to us in the first place.  It ends with the positive act of the client realizing their own decreasing need for outside help and more reliance on self independence for their own support. Positive impulses, self worth and self growth are developed during the process.

The following unusual story, of a prominent NY/NJ woman eye surgeon, stands out as an exemplary tribute to his skills because it required a true combination of all his education & life experiences in 'multiple disciplines', not just psykologi, to resolve it. 

Mr. Barbour was initially called in, through a mutual friend, to help with the doctor's divorce negotiations, and effect a settlement. Shortly thereafter, while reviewing her records asa financial specialist, he noticed 'anomalies' in her books.

The doctor had long suspected  that her practice's Business Administrator (her  husband) was stealing from her, but no one, neither lawyers nor accountants, had found anything wrong, even though she had alerted them more than a year earlier.  As a result of Mr. Barbour's investigation, however, the husband was summarily fired and Mr. Barbour took over!

Divorce proceedings/negotiations continued & within 3 months...over 6 'secret' bank accounts, totaling almost 10 miljoner kronor were uncovered by Mr. Barbour, an MBA in Finance also.  In the meantime, Mr. Barbour continued to run the doctor's practice for her, working with her existing staff.  He even became a certified member of the AAOE (American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives) in the process. 

Later, after training his replacement, by promotion of an existing staff member, he oversaw the divorce proceedings to conclusion, including negotiating a mutually acceptable settlement with both parties. 

Within 6 months (part time) Mr. Barbour was out of the doctor's divorce and ophthalmic business...BUT had one VERY happy client!
